We all have those kinds of days.

You know those days where you feel like you’re going through the motions? Where your body feels a little heavier, your thoughts seem delayed and you just feel sluggish and blah?

Where those people around you that seem to have it all together are just blinding you with their optimism and light? And you complain silently to yourself like “why can’t my life be (fill-in-the-blank)?”

Those days where you continually ask yourself, “why?” yet can’t seem to find a “good” answer?

Here’s a little message to you on those days: hey, you’re not alone. Those people around you that seem to just have that time to take care of themselves and show up refreshed, rejuvenated, and renewed every single damn day? They have these types of days too.

And also, you’re putting a whole lot of pressure on yourself to figure out the true, elemental “why” behind anything.  Take a step back.

Trying to immediately get rid of these feelings instead acknowledging them only makes it feel worse. Give these feelings some space to fester and do whatever it is they need to do. In the mean time though? Simply show up. Here’s your permission to “just” show up on those days. The “just” is in quotes because some days, showing up is the ultimate challenge. It’s a small, but powerful step. Show up and try your very best with wherever you’re at. If you do that, even on those days, you’ll only get stronger.

It’s all part of the process, and find a little bit of comfort in the fact that those better, more productive and fulfilling days are right around the corner.
