Intentions are the guidance to your goals. They keep you on track. Intentions also allow you to stay present, in the moment, so that you can take advantage of each and every moment in your day. We love setting monthly intentions; the start of a new month just feels like a clean slate. Here are a few simple tips that will help you incorporate more intentions into your life. Before you start, find a quiet space, a notebook, and a few minutes.

1) When thinking about your intentions, think about what you want to feel like at the end of the day or month. Do you want to feel productive? Rested and rejuvenated? Connected?

2) Once you figure out how you want to feel, think about a few reasons that would NOT allow you to feel that way at the end of the day or month. For example, if you want to feel productive, perhaps not staying focused or not getting enough sleep would contribute to non-productivity.

3) And the opposite of that is your intention. For example, focus or rest to increase productivity.

Last month’s intention was, “Action.” We chose to practice this through setting up a consistent newsletter and following through: being mindful of doing the things that we say we will do. Our intention for this month is “Connection.” Our vision is to build a self-care community where people can simplify their self-care routines and habits. We’re doing this by launching a self-care challenge on February 13!

Setting intentions allows you to show up as your best self and make each moment count, and that is self-care.
