Our Favorite Five Tools

for self-care

We’d be lying if we said we had a really difficult time narrowing down our self-care tools to such a small list. Seriously. This list took us about 5 minutes to think of. There was no debating it.  That’s how much these items are our favorites.

Below we talk a little more about why we love each item and a link for where you can find it for yourself. We hope you enjoy!

Guided meditations, calming music, a variety of soothing bells, thought provoking talks and meditation courses.

What we love:

  • Mobile app so it’s with us wherever we go
  • Can see what your friends are meditating to
  • Free with the option to upgrade
How we use it:

“I use this app just about every workday morning. First, for a timer with calming music while I journal. And then for a guided meditation on whatever topic I’m feeling that day.”

– Brooke

“I love starting my days with meditation, and this app allows me to sneak in a few minutes of meditation, regardless of whether I have 5 minutes or an hour to spare.”

– Karena

Scheduling system, task management, reminders, syncing capabilities and all the basis of all things organization.

What we love:

  • Mobile app so it’s with us wherever we go…no pen needed!
  • Color coding to help organize all the different roles of our lives
  • Totally free
How we use it:

“Google calendar has replaced my to-do list. Anything I need to do gets scheduled on my calendar with a specific color coding system…even lunch breaks and rest!”

– Brooke

“With Brooke & I’s varying schedules, it’s easy to lose track of important things, like meetings or appointments. Google calendar takes those worries away by allowing us to keep track of those types of things all in one place and gives us notifications when something is changed on our calendar so that we can stay in the loop.”

– Karena

Pretty self explanatory. Holds liquids. Tons of great designs.

What we love:

  • Double walled insulation to keep our beverages just right
  • Screw top so we can throw it in our bag without worry
  • Simple Modern gives back 10% of profits to help the world’s water crisis
How we use it:

“I love to keep a full water bottle in my car or bag at all times without worrying about leaking, condensation or spilling.”

– Brooke

“A water bottle makes drinking water an easy, simple habit instead of something that I have to remember to do. I also like a water bottle with a pretty design, since I take mine everywhere I go.”

– Karena

Budget tracking, debt management, bank syncing, goal tracking & financial reports to say the least.

What we love:

  • Based on a practical, sustainable mindset about money
  • Simple and clean mobile app. that goes everywhere we go
  • Weekly email updates with constant motivation and inspiration
How we use it:

“This app has changed my life. Literally. No more arguing about money. No more guilt about spending. No more confusion on what money is going where.”

– Brooke

“This app has totally shifted my perspective on money. It’s given me clarity around my priorities, and I feel much more in control of my money now, which is a great, empowered feeling!”

– Karena

Again. Pretty straight forward. Blank pages just waiting to be filled.

What we love:

  • Small enough to fit in most of our bags so we are always ready to capture those ideas
  • Lots of color options and dotted pages for bullet journaling
  • Great price
How we use it:

“As part of my morning routine I take 10 mins each morning to “brain dump” my thoughts in my journal. This allows me to clear space for focused day.”

– Brooke

“I take my journal with me everywhere I go since I never know when that inspiration or good idea will hit me! I also like the little place holders that are attached to the journal to help keep me organized.”

– Karena

Self-care looks different for everyone. For us at WonderWell it’s pretty safe to assume that at any point during the week one of us will be utilizing at least of 2 of these!
